Launchpad ("we") manages and grows YouTube channels with creators. This page explains what happens to your information when you connect a YouTube channel to Launchpad, and when you choose Connect for uploads. Our Terms describe the service itself.
What we collect
- The channel's name, handle and picture.
- The channel's numbers: subscribers, views and video count, and for each video its title, views, likes, comments and, during live streams, how many people are watching.
- If you allow it, YouTube Analytics reports for the channel, such as watch time and revenue.
- A sign-in token from Google that lets our server read the above. We never see your Google password.
- Only if you choose Connect for uploads: a separate sign-in token from Google for uploading, the channel's id and name, and a record of each video Launchpad uploaded: what it was, when, and which Launchpad manager pressed Upload. The video files themselves come from Launchpad's editors, not from Google.
How we use it
Only to show you and Launchpad's team how the channel is doing, through live views, stats and reports we use to manage the channel with you, and to work out your share of the channel's revenue: the monthly statements and payouts of our revenue-share agreement with you. We don't sell it, share it with advertisers, or use it for anything else.
If you choose Connect for uploads, we use that access only to upload and schedule the finished videos for your channel. A named Launchpad manager reviews each video first (title, description, tags, thumbnail, publish time, and the made-for-kids and altered or synthetic content answers) and presses Upload. Videos go up private, scheduled to publish at the time you agreed. We never use it to delete, edit or change the visibility of videos Launchpad did not upload.
Who we share it with
Your channel's data is shown only to you and to the Launchpad staff who work on your channel. We don't share it with anyone else, except service providers that run our systems for us (the cloud server Launchpad runs on, and our Google Workspace, where your reports and statements are kept), only so we can provide Launchpad's services to you, or when the law requires it. We never sell it, and never give it to advertisers or data brokers.
No third party serves ads or sets cookies on Launchpad. The only cookies we use keep people signed in to Launchpad. The home page remembers in your own browser whether you turned its sound off.
How we protect it
The data, and the sign-in token Google gives us, are stored on Launchpad's own server, which only Launchpad's administrators can reach. Every connection to Launchpad is encrypted (HTTPS). Staff who can see channel data sign in with a password and two-step verification, and only staff who need it can see it. Upload tokens are stored encrypted. Launchpad's access to your channel is limited to the permissions you approved on Google's consent screen: reading your channel's numbers and, only if you choose Connect for uploads, adding new videos to your channel.
How long we keep it
We keep your channel's data while the channel is connected to Launchpad, and refresh the YouTube numbers we store at least every 30 days. If you press Disconnect in Launchpad we revoke the token straight away and delete the Google data we stored about your channel within 7 days. If you remove Launchpad in your Google account we delete it within 30 days.
Deleting your data at Launchpad doesn't delete anything already on YouTube: videos Launchpad uploaded stay on your channel until you remove them there. Statements and payout records we have already issued to you are kept as long as we need them for our accounting and legal obligations.
Google API Services User Data Policy
Launchpad's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We use it only to provide the features described above, and we don't use it to train AI or machine-learning models.
YouTube and Google
Launchpad uses YouTube API Services. By connecting a channel you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service, and the Google Privacy Policy applies to Google's handling of your information. Launchpad's own Terms apply to using Launchpad.
Removing access
You can remove Launchpad's access at any time by pressing Disconnect in Launchpad, from your Google account's security settings page, or by asking us. Then we stop using the channel's access right away (see "How long we keep it" above).
Changes
If we change what we do with your Google data, we'll update this page and ask for your agreement again before using it in a new way.
